Sony is no longer a major smartphone manufacturer here in the US but over in Australia, things are the exact opposite. Local carrier Vodafone announced yesterday that Sony will be pushing out the highly anticipated Android 5.0 Lollipop update in Australia first before the rest of the world.
In detail, Vodafone claims that Sony will push out the update from region to region. Once the update is rolled out in Oceana, Sony will then focus on Asia, Europe and the Americas accordingly.
While the roadmap might still appear blurry, Vodafone did confirm that the Xperia Z2 will get the Android 5.0 Lollipop after the Z3 and this is expected to happen by next week. At the moment, the carrier is running some tests with the OS.
