Samsung revealed two handsets by way of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, but if you are comparing these two which comes out as the winner?
There is a lot that is the same with these two phones. Both the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge offer a display of 5.1 inches and this is Quad HD with 1440 x 2560 resolution. They both have the Samsung Exynos 7420 processor which is octo-core and they both have cameras of 16MP with OIS and a 5MP on the front.
One of the biggest differences is the display and on the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge you do have the edge of the display wrapping round the device.
Both have a battery that should give you about 12 hours use and the handset is able to charge very fast. If you charge it for one hour 20 minutes you will get a full battery, and around ten minutes of charging will give you three to four hours use. Both of the handsets offer wireless charging too.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge is thicker than the Samsung Galaxy S6 but only just. The Edge is 132g and 7mm while the S6 comes in at 138g and 6.8mm. Both of the handsets have the Corning Gorilla glass on the front and both offer a camera that sticks out a little.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge does offer some functionality that you don’t get with the Samsung Galaxy S6. The edge for instance shows you the time and it does this even if the handset is sleeping. You can also see notifications and messages and you can have the edge of the device set up as a notification light.
If you want the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge you are going to have to pay £100 more just for the edge features. Both are superb devices though and it is difficult to choose between them.
