The Samsung Galaxy S5 has already been released and it is truly an amazing smartphone to own. However, purchasing the Galaxy S5 can really cut a hole in your wallet due to its huge price tag. This explains why consumers bought it through a carrier to enjoy the subsidized price.
However, there is a downside to getting a device from a carrier and it is with it being carrier-locked. This means that S5 users won’t be able to switch to any SIM card other than the network provider where the device is purchased. In addition to that, a carrier-locked S5 will have a lower resale value in the future.
Then again, this will no longer be an issue as an insider has leaked out the unlock codes for the Samsung Galaxy S5. With it, users can free their device from being carrier locked. To apply the unlock codes, simply follow the instruction below.
1. Slide in a new Sim card from a different carrier into the Galaxy S5.
2. Turn the device off and switch it back on again.
3. Open up the dial pad and key in *#197328640#.
4. Follow up by selecting [1] UMTS > [1] Debug Screen > [8] Phone Control > [6] Network Lock > Options [3] Perso SHA256 OFF.
5. Wait for 30 seconds and press back to return to the main menu.
6. The device should have a “Network Lock” message, choose [4] NW Lock NV Data INITIALLIZ.
