Looking back in 2013, we witnessed plenty of great devices debuting. In the Android world, we saw Samsung introducing whole new technological advancement with the Galaxy S4. Then there is the LG G2 which boasts an amazing performance. Finally is the Google Nexus 5 which took the world by storm the moment it got released late last year.
These devices are awesome in many ways but how will they look when being contested with each other?
For a start, there is nothing much to compare when it comes to the G2 and Nexus 5. After all, it was LG and its G2 which became the base for the Nexus 5 development. The G2 is packed with the Snapdragon 800 processor together with 2GB of RAM and an Adreno 330 graphics card. Of course it is fully HD.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 is somewhat similar. However, it arrives in three variants. The Snapdragon 800 version of the S4 is an LTE-enabled phone. The entry-level S4 runs on the Exynos Octa-core processor and this has power VR SGX 544MP3. All of them come with 2GB of RAM.
All of these devices offer a resolution of 1080 x 1920 but the ppi differs from one another. The Nexus 5 has a 4.95inch screen with 445ppi. This is followed by the S4 which has 441ppi on its 5inch screen. The G2 came in last giving users 424ppi on its 5.2inch screen. Of course, the S4 has the Super Amoled screen while the G2 has the IPS+ display.
Both the S4 and Nexus 5 is built with Gorilla Glass 3 whereas the G2 has the Gorilla Glass 2. The LG G2 has no external memory option whereas the S4 can support up to 64GB memory card.
Both the LG G2 and the S4 comes with a 13MP camera. However, the S4 lacks OIS making it a disappointment in low-lighting areas. The Nexus 5 is similar to the G2 except that it is only 8MP camera. The Nexus 5 and G2 can capture videos at full HD and the latter can even do a 60fps when doing some shooting.
Finally is the battery. LG’s G2 has the biggest battery capacity that is 3000mAh. Second to that is the S4 with 2600mAh before the Nexus 5 with 2300mAh. Of course, the Nexus 5 is the only phone with Android 4.4 Kitkat at the moment.
In terms of specs, all three devices are great. When it comes to price, the Nexus 5 is the clear winner. It is sold for only $350 without contract and both the S4 and G2 can’t match this. If you’re looking for a powerful bargain, then the Nexus 5 is the phone for you.
