The Samsung Galaxy S3 was released back in 2012 and the phone manufacturer has promised its S3 users the latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat update. Of course, that will be rolled out once the Galaxy S5 is released.
Once it is out, the Galaxy S3 will join the likes of the Galaxy S3 Mini, Galaxy S4 Zoom, Galaxy S4 Active, Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy Mega as they are all updated to the KitKat.
It is not limited to the smartphones. Samsung tablets are also getting their hands on the Android OS. The Korean phone-vendor revealed that the Galaxy Note 8 and the Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 will also be updated to the KitKat.
Samsung will be rolling out the KitKat base on the device instead of throwing it out all at once. The latest device will be updated first and last will be the oldest device on the list. As such, Galaxy S3 users should stay patient as it will be the last smartphone to be updated.
