After what happened to the Samsung Galaxy Note 7, there were speculations that Samsung might kill off the Note series and start fresh with a new phablet but it looks like Samsung is not ready to let it go just yet.
According to D.J. Koh, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 might be getting the codename Baikal. Named after the deepest lake in the world located in Russia people are now trying to figure out why it is named so.
The existence of a new codename for the device should also reassure the fans that Samsung is serious about keeping the Note Series around for a little longer. Since the Note 7 did not make it and we are still waiting for the S8 to be announced, nobody really knows what the Note 8 will bring to the table just yet.
At this point, we are just happy that the Note 8 is going to be a thing.
