Samsung has long been relying on the Qualcomm Snapdragon processors for their smartphones but this year, things are expected to change. Rumours are rife in claiming that the Snapdragon is no longer useful for Samsung.
Of course, such a statement was made after Samsung announced their newly-developed 14mm chipset that is faster and more energy efficient than the 20mm Snapdragon 810 unit. As such, Samsung will surely rely more on their homemade Exynos chipset instead of relying on Qualcomm.
The rumours are also indicating that this particular change will start with the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S6. Now, the rumours have returned to add the Note 5 into the mix.
Previously, the rumours are tipping the Note 5 to run on the 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor. Now, the future table is heavily linked to run on the Exynos 7420 SoC chipset. This will be paired together with 4GB of RAM and also 256GB of internal storage.
With Samsung dropping many general products for homemade items, they are looking to evolve into an original entity here in the smartphone industry.
