Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Or New S5: How Important Is Size

In terms of size, the Galaxy S5 is equipped with a 5.1 inch screen which is still smaller than the one on Galaxy Note 3. This is obvious as the Note 3 belongs to the phablet family, not smartphone.

Where displays are concerned, both devices offer 1080p resolution on their respective screens. Of course, the Galaxy S5 offers a much crispier look as it has an improved colour mechanism and a bigger range of brightness.

Then there are the features that came with both devices. The Note 3 has that traditional S Pen that is used with Air Command, Pen Window, Action Memo and S Finder.

The S5 has something else which are absent on the phablet. The smartphone is equipped with a new and improved fingerprint scanner that is approved by PayPal. There is also a heart rate sensor located at the rear of the device.

The camera on the Galaxy S5 brags more pixel counts than its giant counterpart. The Note 3 has a 13MP rear camera, which is 3MP short of the Galaxy S5. In spite of that, both devices are able to capture 4K videos and slow motions at 120FPS.

As for the processing power, the Galaxy S5 is faster with its Snapdragon 801 chipset clocked at 2.5GHz. The Note 3 runs on the Snapdragon 800 clocked at 2.3GHz. On the other hand, the latter has 3GB RAM which is 1GB more than that of the Galaxy S5.

Both devices are running on the latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat.

All in all, it seems that the differences between the two devices are a narrow one. For those who are using the Note 3, perhaps it is best to wait for the Samsung Galaxy S6 to make a worthy change.
