Back in September 2013, two great smartphones were released and they are the Apple iPhone 5S and the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. Both devices are still selling well today due to their depreciated price tag and the expensive cost of new phones. However, between the two, which is the better buy?
The Apple iPhone 5S retails from $649 and prices can shoot up to $849 for the 64GB model. The Galaxy Note 3, on the other hand, retails at $600.
In terms of performance, the iPhone 5S runs on the Apple A7 processor with 2GB of RAM. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Note 3 runs on the 2.3GHZ Snapdragon 800 processor with 3GB of RAM. The latter also comes with 16GB of internal memory that is expandable to 64GB via microSD. The storage space for the iPhone 5S is fixed internally and differs based on its trim level.
As for the display, the iPhone 5S has a 4” display that offers 326ppi. The Note 3, on the other hand, has a 5.7” screen that runs on Full HD resolution. When it comes to cameras, the iPhone 5S has an 8MP rear and 1.5MP front shooter. The Note 3 has a 13MP rear camera and a 2MP front shooter.
Judging from the specs above, it is safe to say that the Note 3 is the better device, aside from just being cheaper. The Note 3 is also more productive thanks to the S Pen which offers more functions. Then again, the iPhone 5S can brag about having better system-hardware integration thanks to the iOS 8.
