Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Gets 4.4.2 KitKat With The Help Of CyanogenMod

Owners of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 LTE might be getting the Android KitKat 4.4.2 firmware update soon but alternatively, they can also start downloading the latest custom KitKat known as CyanogenMod 11.

This nightly ROM developed from a team of hackers is based on the Android Open Source Project. The custom ROM is also free of bloatware and offers an interface similar to the original with a fast performance.

Galaxy Note 3 LTE owners can get the CM11 by following the instructions below. However, we won’t be held responsible for any damages or losses caused by this update.

Users should know that the CM11 is only N9000 variants only. Users can check on their device’s Settings>About Phone. Also, a backup of the device should be made in case anything goes wrong. Also, do make sure that USB drivers are installed, USB Debugging mode enabled on Settings and the phablet having a minimum of 80% in battery juice.

Other things that needs to be in place before users can commence the update includes rooting their device with the latest ClockworkMod, downloading the Google Apps Package and the CM11 ROM itself. Once downloaded, transfer everything to the Note 3 SD card.

Flashing Instructions

1. Reboot the device into recovery mode by switching the device off before simultaneously pressing the volume up, home and power button.
2. Select Wipe Data/Factory Reset. This can be navigated with the volume button.
3. Return to CWM main menu and choose Mount & Storage> Format System.
4. Choose Install Zip from SD Card and select the CM11 that was copied earlier.
5. Repeat the same for the Google Apps Package.
6. Once done, reboot the Note 3. This will take about 5 minutes before the logo starts to show up. The device will now run on the CM11 Nightly.
