The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 might be an old device from 2012 but it will be among the first to receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop update. This has been confirmed by Samsung yesterday when they revealed that the Note 2 will get the latest Android OS and it will be the last update for the device.
This might be out of norm since Samsung only updates its devices that are younger than 2 years old. The Note 2 has already surpassed its support period but Samsung is overruling its policy since there are still many Note 2 users around.
When the Android 5.0 Lollipop update arrives, it will introduce the OS’ material design as well as features in the Samsung Galaxy Note 2. The Lollipop is described as a system that anticipates the users’ needs instead of waiting for the user to run a command.
Of course, no specifics were mentioned like when the Android 5.0 Lollipop will reach out to the Samsung Galaxy Note 2. However, Samsung did hint that the Android 5.0 Lollipop will be rolled out after they update the Samsung Galaxy S5 later this month.
