After quite a lengthy wait, the Android 4.4.2 KitKat has finally arrived to the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1. The update is pushed out to the Scandinavian region first with Finland and Denmark being its first stop. In a matter of weeks from now, the update should be available globally.
The Android 4.4.2 KitKat update will add in wireless printing support, new camera shortcut, default SMS app function and other functions to the Galaxy Note 10.1. If you are one of the tablet user and wish to perform the update manually, then read on for the installation guide.
Before you begin, make sure the device bears the name SM-P605 and USB driver is already installed on your PC. Also, prevent any data loss by making a backup of your Note 10.1. In addition to that, you need to enable USB Debugging and ensure that your device has a minimum of 80% battery capacity.
First, you will need to install the P605XXUCNE2 ROM into the device. Extract the .tar.md5 file and the Odin Zip folder. Once done, turn off the tablet.
Then, hold down the Home button and volume down button simultaneously to enter Download mode. On your computer, run Ordinas Administrator and connect the Galaxy Note to the PC. Odin should then turn blue. If so, click the AP button and select .tar.md5 file with extension.
Next, enable Auto Reboot and F.Reset Time in Odin making sure that the Re-Partition box is NOT checked and click start. Upon completion, your device should reboot automatically and it will run on the latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat.
