The newly released Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 might be a cheap escape for an oversized smartphone, which is packed with all the best gizmos within its budget bracket. Then there is the old—timer from 2012, the Samsung Galaxy S3. It was the best smartphone back in the days.
As such, we have compare both devices to see if the size of the gap between the two. Does being 2 years older make the Galaxy S5 irrelevant? Check out the comparison below.
The Samsung Galaxy S3 comes with a 4.8” Super AMOLED display. The Galaxy Mega’s 6.3 inch is only a basic LCD. Despite being older, the S3’s screen is able to produce 306ppi, which is 31% more than the Galaxy Mega 6.3.
Under the hood, the S3 runs on a 1.4GHz quad-core processor with 1GB RAM. Even with the 1.7GHz Snapdragon 400 processor with 1.5GB RAM, the Mega 6.3 is still slower due to it being a dual-core.
Both devices have the same 8MP rear camera but the S3 is still ahead as it comes with all the best features for the users to explore. Aside from that, everything about the S3 and the Mega 6.3 are identical to each other.
This is surprising really. Who knew that a flagship device from 2 years ago can end up like a mid-tier device today?
