Resident Evil 7 is currently in production by Capcom and there is a huge chance for the game to drop the fast paced, action-shooter gameplay and return to the horror roots of the franchise.
This was suggested after a screenshot on Resident Evil 7 got leaked online and it shows the future sequel being set in Racoon City. For those who are unaware, Racoon City is the location setting for the first Resident Evil trilogy and back then, everything was all about horror and jump scares.
With Resident Evil 7 returning to Racoon City, it heavily suggests that horror too will be making its comeback in the series.
Such an outcome will surely please the loyal Resident Evil fans that hated the action genre which was introduced in Resident Evil 4 and persisted till Resident Evil 6.
