The Resident Evil series has been on a constant nosedive ever since the fourth sequel came out. This is because Resident Evil 4 was not made a horror title but instead, a fast-paced third-person shooter video game.
The sudden shift in genre was adopted by both Resident Evil 5 and 6 as well and fans fear that it will also be the direction for the upcoming Resident Evil 7. Well, this doesn’t look like happening if Resident Evil fans are to believe the latest leak on the future sequel.
In detail, the leak gave away a screenshot of Resident Evil 7’s home screen and it confirms that the game will be a remake of the series’ first trilogy. Also, the game will be known as Resident Evil Zero instead of Resident Evil 7.
If the leak is spot on, then fans should start getting excited as it also means that Resident Evil 7 will be a horror-based title. After all, that was the main element in the first Resident Evil trilogy and the remake should make it more mesmerizing than before.
While it may be best to take the above with a pinch of salt, there is a chance for the leak to be true. This is due to Capcom, which has been continuously asking the fans on what they wish to enjoy if a remake of the first trilogy is in the works.
