It is no secret that Capcom is developing Resident Evil 7 and the sequel is going to return back to the series traditional ways. This was teased by a leak screenshot of the game in development.
The screenshot basically shows Resident Evil 7 being located in Racoon City. Racoon City is the location of Resident Evil’s first trilogy and back then, everything revolves around horror. Hence, it strongly suggests the horror genre to return in Resident Evil 7 too.
This news should please the Resident Evil purists that have been disappointed by the fast-paced action gameplay which became the norm since Resident Evil 4.
Then again, the leak still requires confirmation form Valve and until that happens, fans are best to take it with a pinch of salt. More details on this are expected to come in the near future.
