The thing about remake games is that they are supposed to allow their older fans to relive the memories and enjoy the game once more but the developer also wants the game to appeal to the newer fans who might have missed out on the game in the past.
With such a huge gap between the original game and the new game, what we enjoy then might not necessarily be what we enjoy then. This would not be a problem to the older fans because they know what they are getting into but the newer fans will be out off by the style and mechanics of the past game. So how can the developer satisfy both parties?
One thing that the fans have argued about with the Resident Evil 2 Remake is the character angle. In the original Resident Evil 2 Remake, the game had a fixed camera view that worked in the past but new fans are hoping that Capcom would turn the game into a third person view now. That did not sit well with the hardcore fans.
Well, the best solution for the Resident Evil 2 Remake right now would be to offer both options. Games like Fallout have been doing so it is not something new or foreign. Give the fans the option and let them decided how they would like to play the game.
