Renault will have to issue a recall to recall back their Renault Captur after it was reported that there might be some problems with the emission filter that Renault has on their diesel powered Captur.
It was reported that the emission filter on the Renault Captur will only turn on when the temperature is in between 17 degrees to 35 degrees Celsius and while test is done in between 20 to 30 degree Celsius, it was pointed out that the average temperature in Paris is way lower than that.
The recall will affect models that are powered by the 1.5 liters DCi 110 diesel engine. Besides recalling about 15,800 units of the Renault Captur, Renault will also offer a voluntary emission system update to some of the other vehicles. It was reported that a total of 700,000 will be offered the emission system upgrade.
The French government has been looking for automakers that might have cheated on their diesel test after the Volkswagen diesel scandal came to light.
