The former was caused by the new HDCP disable option coming with the 1.70 firmware. It is also known to cause the screen to flicker. As for the crash, it reveals the error code CE-36329-3.
Along with these problems, there is also the issue where the Friends List failed to function. Some gamers revealed that the list failed to populate their friends and adding new ones does not work well.
If you have yet to update your console, then it is best to stay away from it at the moment. Sony should be aware of this problem and soon, the company will sent out the necessary fixes.
