Prius Powertrain & RAV4 Structure Created The C-HR! [PICS]

A couple of weeks ago, we got a small glimpse of the Toyota C-HR Concept and promised more information when the car gets unveiled at the 2014 Paris Motor Show. Well, that day is today and true enough, we learned a lot about the C-HR.

Unlike its images, the vehicle looks super awkward that it needed a long gaze just to get used to its design. Measuring at 4,350 mm long, 1,850 mm wide and 1,500 mm high, the car comes with Toyota’s Under Priority and Keen Look design language.

The C-HR is built on the all-new diamond architecture that offers a wheelbase of 2,640mm. The large wheelarches gave the C-HR a firm stance from every angle. Over at the front, one can easily spot the large, life-liked headlights which also feature three-dimensional LED daytime running lights. The rear, on the other hand, is kept bold with boomerang taillights detached from the edge of the boot.

One Toyota representative had a word with us and revealed that the C-HR is heavily inspired by three different vehicles. The design is moulded from the RAV4, the handling is tipped to be inspired by the GT86 and the powertrain will be based on the next-generation Prius.

The latter further confirms that the C-HR will be a hybrid but the Toyota guy failed to share with us on the sort of powertrain resting under its hood.
