As Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire are months away yet, there are many details that we don’t know about the game. However one thing is clear and that is that Mega Slaking will be a feature in the games.
Mega Metagross has been the latest Pokemon to get the mega form, it was said that mega forms in Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire will include Metagross, Diancie, Sableye, Sceptile and Swampert, there was also talk about Latios/Latias.
There was the leak of a mega Pokemon chart and the Gen 3 Pokemon on the list had a Mega Stone apart from Slaking, but this doesn’t mean that he isn’t going to have one. But why should Slaking have a Mega Stone? After all it is the characters relationship to the gym leader isn’t it?
The Petalburg Gym is owned by Norman and he makes use of the balanced normal Pokemon and the more powerful is Slaking, who is subject of mega speculation. He is going to be the first to teach your character how you can catch Pokemon and he won’t fight you until you have collected four gym badges.
Steven, the champion of the Hoenn region is going to introduce Mega Evolution to the character, however what happens if it happens to be your father that you finally master it? The footage of Pokemon Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby showed you fighting with Slaking in the normal form. So when you do fight your father and get the fifth badge he doesn’t release the Mega Slaking on you, as you were not ready.
So what if you had to battle Norman and then you come across him later after getting the Mega Ring and mega stone? He could challenge you and then unleash Mega Slaking.
It would be a crime if Nintendo and Pokemon Company did not take advantage of the lineage and Norman used Mega Slaking to teach you about Mega Evolutions.
