After about a month-long delay, the Pokebank has finally flown out of Japan. Instead of it heading for the US, the Pokebank has landed in Europe, Australia and New Zealand simultaneously.
In commemoration of the Pokebank’s arrival, Nintendo is giving away Celebi as a free gift to players who access the Pokebank before September 30. The Pokebank application is now available for download at the eShop on the Nintendo 3DS.
As previously announced, players will get the chance to test out the Pokebank for free. There is a one month trial period for the Pokebank’s service. While it was initially thought that the trial will start when the player’s actually started utilizing the Pokebank, it appears that Nintendo has placed a common date marking the end of the trial. The date is set at March 14, 2014.
However, the pricing remains the same. Subscription for the Pokebank is set at $5 per year and the application is expected to be used for future Pokemon games as well.
The Pokebank will provide players with 100 boxes that can store 30 Pokemon each. These sums up to 3000 Pokemon. The Pokebank will also enable players to bring around Pokemon from previous versions to the latest X & Y.
As for North America, there has been word that the Pokebank will launch on Tuesday next week. However, there has been no official word from Nintendo as of yet.
