If there is one service that can easily cast media content from various platforms onto a smart TV, it is Plex. This powerful little application made it super simple for users to broadcast videos from Chromecast, AppleTV, smartphones and tablets.
Then again, one might argue that both Chromecast and AppleTV are already built with such a feature. This is true but neither platform is able to support as many formats as Plex does while also ensuring a smooth video playback.
Plex is able to do so with ease as it automatically identifies the TV’s system and convert the videos before streaming it. The result is a super high quality output that will amaze users on every front.
On the downside of things, Plex is not free to use. The app has to be downloaded an installed on the transmitting platform, which vary in price. Plex for Apple iPhone and iPad cost £2.99, Android cost £2.92 and Windows Mobile cost £3.49. On the other hand, the app has to be installed on the TV as well. Of course, this is free of charge.
To begin, users have to create an account with Plex. Then, they will have to upload all the media files in their library. When ready, select the media file which they wish to broadcast and configure the transmitting settings. Upon confirmation, the video will then stream on the Plex app in the SmartTV.
