The AOKP team created a huge buzz yesterday after they announced that the Nightly Android 4.4.4 KitKat has been released. However, the models that are capable of installing the custom ROM are Oneplus One and Sony Xperia Z2.
Upon applying the update on our very own OnePlus One, we noticed a number of changes such as call stats feature is now back, loads of device specific updates, bugfixes, tweaked apps, some battery life enhancements, translation updates, and more.
On the downside of things, the Nightly KitKat build requires the OnePlus One and Sony Xperia Z2 users to root their device. It is highly advisable that those without any experience in rooting should stay away from doing so.
If you are planning to update to your OnePlus One or Sony Xperia Z2, then it is important to note that you will have to download and install Gapps too.
The Nightly KitKat build from AOKP is just the tip of the iceberg. Soon, the same ROM will be made available for other Android-operated as well.
