Fans of Nintendo have been getting very excited with all the news about Nintendo smartphones. Nintendo revealed their bad pre-financial results the other day and cut down the sales forecast of the Wii U by two thirds. This could indicate that Nintendo is going to have some type of presence in the world of smartphones before the year is out, that’s if the rumours are true.
A Nintendo phone is one ways that the company could overcome financial results that are devastating.
There were rumours going around that Nintendo would rush a new console onto the market, rumour had it that the console would be called the Nintendo Fusion and it was leaked with fake specs. We then heard about a smartphone and this does seem to be a lot more credible than the console. This news came by way of a Japanese newspaper called Nikkei and they said that Nintendo would be releasing trailers for mini games that could be played on a phone.
However it seemed that Nintendo didn’t have plans to launch any big games on phones. More like they would launch demos of games. But this may not be so and it is possible that Nintendo could reveal some playable mini or micro games. It is possible that we could see Steel Diver being offered as Nintendos first game that people can play for free.
So it looks like fans cannot expect to see a virtual console coming to phones and if fans are offered playable games on phones there is no doubt that these games would be promotional.
However it does look as though Nintendo are starting to take big risks, but the biggest issue for Nintendo is marketing. The Wii U is weak right now and Nintendo marketed it wrong, so more exposure through the phone market could bring the company more revenue and perhaps a new audience for the Wii U along with the 3DS.
