After all the speculation, we now know how much it would cost to own the new Oculus Rift set and it was way off the speculation mark.
It was previously predicted that the Oculus Rift would cost somewhere around the $300 mark after it was suggested that fans will probably need to spend about $1500 to own an Oculus Rift and a PC that will be strong enough to support the device.
Based on that, it was calculated that the Oculus Rift would retail about $300 but it was announced that it will now cost $600 to own, way more than what the fans had expected. The Oculus Rift base preorder package will come with the Oculus Rift, one Xbox One controller, Remote, sensor and a copy of two Oculus Rift supported games, Eve: Valkyrie and Lucky’s Tale.
The developers have since come out to apologize for their misleading comments in the past and also pointed out the reason why they had to sell the Oculus Rift at the decided price. Would yo buy one now that you know it will cost $600?
