Nokia Lumia 1520 vs Samsung Galaxy Note 3: The Big Guys

The phablet industry has been dominated by the Samsung Galaxy Note devices for years now. Today, its position is finally challenged after Nokia launched its best phablet yet, the Lumia 1520. Is it good enough to topple the Note 3?

The Lumia 1520 is slightly larger than the Galaxy Note 3. It has a 6” LCD screen that produces 367ppi. This is just short of the 386ppi produced by the Note 3’s 5.7” Super AMOLED display. However, the Lumia 1520 is able to last longer thanks to its larger 3400mAh battery. The Note 3 only has 3200mAh capacity.

Under the hood, Samsung equipped the Note 3 with the 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 processor with 3GB RAM and Adreno 330 GPU. The Lumia runs on the same processor but its RAM size is limited to 2GB.

However, the Lumia 1520 leaps ahead as its 20MP rear camera and 1.2MP front shooter is able to capture high quality images. The Note 3 13MP rear camera and 2.1MP front camera are just not good enough.

All in all, this is a close match up. The Note 3 is only better by a hair thanks to its fairly tuned hardwares. Then again, the Lumia 1520 has it sets of features which make it a better option. Both phablets are powerful and consumers can never go wrong with them.
