Over the last couple of months, Half Life fans waiting for Half Life 3 have been begging Valve to produce the Source 2 game engine, instead of the highly anticipated third sequel. It seems that fans are certain that without Source 2, there can never be a Half Life 3.
Apparently, Source 2’s development status still reads as incomplete and this has been the case for the last 365 days. Valve appear to have put Source 2’s development on a long pause as they look to focus on publishing other B-grade titles for their Steam platform.
The development of Source 2 is important for Half Life 3. If Valve is to create the latter without the former, then Half Life 3 will end up with miserable graphics and a short plot to accompany it. After all, gaming technologies have progressed so far since Half Life 2 was released more than a decade ago.
With that being said, it is no wonder why fans are pleading Valve to get on with developing Source 2. The fans are certain that once Source 2 is developed, it won’t be long until Valve commences the production of Half Life 3.
