Well, it looks like all the complaints about No Man’s Sky not being the game that everybody expected has not lead to nothing as UK’s Advertising Standard Authority has now decided to take action against Valve and Hello Games.
They are current investigating Hello Games for falsely advertising their game. This will include advertising videos, screenshots and more. ASA will be looking into claims about Hello Games not offering the User Interface design, large-scale space combat, flowing water, aiming systems, behavior of animals, size of creatures, the behavior of ships and more.
However, even if the investigation does prove that Hello Games mislead their customers, it will only lead to them taking down all the advertising materials that are not in the game. The outcome of the investigation will not affect the game in anywhere but at least people won’t be misled in the future.
