After waiting for the game No Man’s Sky for what feels like ages, we are finally getting closer to the release date of the game but don’t start celebrating now because it looks like the developers might have to fix another huge obstacle before they can release the game.
It has been reported that Hello Games might have some issues with the patent of the Superformula. The Superformula was patented by a professor from the University of Antwerp named Johan Gielis a few years ago. The Superformula is believed to be used by Hello Games to generate the terrain in No Man’s Sky.
According to ArsTechnica, Johan Gielis and Genicap are now objecting their use of the Superformula and they are looking to negotiate with Hello Games about the use of the formula.
We do not know how this will end but we hope it does not affect the release date of the game which is now set to be released on the 9th of August.
