It looks like the Nissan Navara will be sharing their platform with the Mitsubishi L200 or Triton.
While sharing a platform usually means that the vehicles will be almost identical, that cannot be said about the Nissan Navara and the Mitsubishi L200. According to Carlos Ghosn, the CEO, and Chairman of Nissan, they are working to make sure both models offer different things because their target audience is not going to be the same.
He added that the trucks will be completely different products. The reason why they choose to give the same platform is to help reduce the development cost of the vehicle.
So while they will be sharing a platform, the two vehicles will not look the same and will not be offering the same thing. As exciting as that sound, it would probably be years before we hear anything about the vehicles.
