The Google Nexus 6 was launched with a plenty of surprises to offer. Aside from the latest Lollipop OS that comes with it, the Nexus 6 sports a premium chassis and a bloated price tag. On the other hand, there is the cheap OnePlus One that is also a global phenomenon as it arrived with high end hardwares with a small price tag. So, which is better?
Looking at the Google Nexus 6, the smartphone exhibits a large 6.0” LCD display that runs on 2K resolution. This is so much sharper than the 1080p 5.5” display on the OnePlus One. Furthermore, the Nexus 6 is equipped with a large battery pack which ensures that it can last longer than the OnePlus One despite having a larger screen.
In terms of performance, the Nexus 6 is powered by the latest Snapdragon 805 processor clocked at 2.5GHz. This is paired to 3GB or RAM and memory can be expanded till 128GB via microSD. The OnePlus One, on the other hand, runs on a 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 processor with 3GB of RAM. Internal storage for the China smartphone is fixed at 16GB and 64GB.
While both devices are able to handle every single tasks thrown at them fluidly and efficiently, it is the Nexus 6 that is faster and this is proven by countless benchmark test.
If there is one segment where the OnePlus One is better than the Nexus 6, it is with their cameras. Both smartphones are equipped with a 13MP rear shooter but it is the former that is sharper than the latter. Also, the OnePlus One has a larger 5MP rear shooter which is better than the 2.1MP on the Nexus 6.
Then again, this is not enough to put the OnePlus One ahead of the Nexus 6. The smartphone from Google is simply the best with its offerings.
