Nexus 6 vs OnePlus One: Time Is A Factor

The Google Nexus 6 and the OnePlus One are the highlights of this year as they are both powerful smartphones with little differences between them. This has led us to do a technical comparison as we bid to identify if the slightly older OnePlus One is able to challenge the Nexus 6.

To begin with, the OnePlus One has a 5.5” display that runs at 1080p resolution. If the device is to make its debut in June onwards, then it should be able to challenge the Google Nexus 6’s 6” screen that runs on QHD resolution.

Again, age plays an important role here in this contest. Being older, the OnePlus One runs on the Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box. Meanwhile, the Nexus 6 flaunts the latest OS around, the Android 5.0 Lollipop.

Also, the OnePlus One draws its powers from a 2.5GHz 801 processor with 3GB of RAM and internal memory that ranges from 16GB to 64GB. This is slightly slower than the Nexus 6 which runs on the latest 2.5GHz Snapdragon 805 processor that is paired to 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Furthermore, the Nexus 6 has support for microSD storage of up to 128GB. The One does not even have a microSD slot.

Then there is the camera comparison. Finally, the OnePlus One is able to outdo the newer Nexus 6 as it comes with a sharper 13MP rear camera and 5MP front shooter. The Nexus brand has always been poor with photography but the Nexus 6 offers a decent skill with its 13MP rear and 2.1MP front shooter.

Of course, this is not enough to even challenge the Google Nexus 6. Clearly, the latter is the winner in this contest. Then again, it is worth considering that the OnePlus One cost about a-third of the Nexus 6 before coming up with your own decision.
