Nexus 6: Taking Back Tethering Rights Without Detection By Verizon, Sprint, AT&T & T-Mobile

Here in the US, consumers can enjoy a large bulk of data on major carriers but the deal comes with a catch. It seems that US smartphone users can’t use the data they paid for like how the wish to since carriers doesn’t allow data sharing via tethering.

Well, there is now a workaround for this and it will benefit you if you are using the latest Google Nexus 6. We have tried the method with Verizon and Sprint with some success and assume that the result is the same for AT&T and T-Mobile carriers.

If you wish to proceed in reclaiming your rights to take full control of your data usage and use tethering, then follow the instructions below.

1. You need root access
2. Download “Root Browser” from the Play Store
3. Navigate to /System
4. Open “build.prop.” It should give you the option to open in a text editor
5. Add “net.tethering.noprovisioning=tru” at the bottom – without quotations.
6. Reboot and enjoy
