It is no secret that Google is aiming to start on a super huge project called the Android Silver Program next year. This has led the masses to think that Google will cut off the Nexus line of device once the Nexus 6 gets released.
Despite the nicely plotted path, new rumours are suggesting that the Nexus 6 won’t be coming at all. Evan Blass from Evleaks had the strongest voice after he posted a Tweet saying that the Nexus 6 is no more.
This was immediately followed by another post which confirms that the Android Silver Program will be commencing in February next year. The lad concluded the subject with a final Tweet, which claims that the Android Silver Program is the reason that the Nexus 6 will not come.
Evleaks might have a good track record in predicting the outcome of the smartphone industry but seeing Google forgetting its Nexus brand just like that is utterly ridiculous. For years now, Google has made a lot of profits from a Nexus smartphone and it is only right for them to produce the Nexus 6. It will simply end the era with a bang.
Then again, there has yet to be any official indication on the Nexus 6’s development, which is worrying to say the least. The Nexus smartphones always get released in November and perhaps it is best to wait until then to confirm if the Nexus 6 is coming or not.
