New iPhone iOS 8.1 Problems Discovered: Attack Of The Clones!

Less than 2 months ago, Apple launched the iOS 8, together with the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. The new operating system arrived with many new functions and features but the most important of them all is the fact that it is more secured than previous iOS versions.

Despite that fact, the iOS 8 was quick to get hacked by a malware called WireLurker. This has forced Apple to send out a patch, thus disabling the malware threat once and for all. Ever since then, iPhone users have been running on the iOS 8.1.

Today, a new discovery revealed that the latter is also an unsafe platform as it is continuously being threatened by a new malware called Masque Attack. The issue is that the malware can clone an existing app on the iPhone and transmit the users’ information to the malware creator.

This is really dangerous as the malware can simply take the form of a banking app. Any information keyed on the app will be captured by the malware for the creator’s benefit. Heck, the hacked app can also access cached emails and login tokens which the malware developer can use and abuse for their benefits.

Of course, Apple is currently working day and night to secure the iOS further and prevent any Masque Attack from happening. It is also a big risk for the iPhone users as the clone apps can appear on the iOS 7.1.1 to the latest iOS 8.1.
