The Samsung Galaxy S5 has been stealing the spotlight ever since it arrived a couple of months ago. On papers, the device is undeniably powerful and full of features. However, will that be enough to oust bitter rivals HTC One M8?
In terms of display, the Galaxy S5’s 5.1” Super AMOLED screen is able to produce 432ppi. This is short of the 441ppi produced by the HTC One’s 5” Super LCD screen. However, the S5 is able to offer more brightness than its counterpart.
The battery capacity on the S5 is discovered to be 2,800mAh. This is more than the HTC One M8’s 2,600mAh battery. However, the extra 0.1” screen size on the S5 means that more power is needed for it to function.
When it comes to processing power, both devices are equally matched. There is no telling the difference between the 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 processor with 2GB RAM on the Galaxy S5, and the 2.3GHz Snapdragon 801 processor with 2GB RAM on the HTC One M8.
Finally is the device’s camera. The S5 is built with a 16MP rear camera while the One M8 is only limited to 4MP. However, the latter is tuned to take pictures like a pro. While it might not be as great as the S5, it sure get the job done.
All in all, these are the few major pointers that can be compared between the two. By right, Samsung has so much more to offer like the fingerprint sensor and the heart rate scanner. Then again, the HTC One M8 is by far the most beautiful device that is created.
