It has been 2 years since the Google Nexus 10 tablet was got released and ever since mid-2013, there has been a strong anticipation for the Nexus 10 2. This successor has missed many rumoured release date which have led to more speculations on a problem behind the curtain.
Those speculations soon died away after fans spotted the old Nexus 10 removed from the Google Play store. It is the biggest hint to the upcoming Google Nexus 10 2. However, the fans are let down as the Nexus 10 has returned. The temporary removal was to update the slate to the latest Andorid 4.4.2 KitKat OS.
Now the speculations have returned claiming that the company producing the Nexus 10 2 is still undecided. The position is being contested by the likes of Samsung, LG, Asus and HTC.
Then there is a leak which claims that Samsung is developing the tablet bearing the model number SM-T800. It has a 10.5 inch Super AMOLED display and is expected to be the Nexus 10 2.
The leaked specs revealed that there will be a resolution of 2560 x1600 and it will run on the 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 or the NVIDIA Tegra 4. There is a 3GB RAM and Adreno 330 GPU to support it as well. The Nexus 10 2 is revealed to have either 16GB or 32GB internal storage.
Other features include an 8MP rear camera, 2.1 MP front camera, dual-band Wi-FI, Bluetooth 4.0, dual-side NFC and a 9500mAh capacity battery.
While it all sounds great, it is still best to be taken with a grain of salt. If there is a rumour that consumers should look up to, it is the one that claims the Nexus 10 2 to be announced during this year’s Google I/O conference happening in June.
