Following the release of the Android 4.4 KitKat OS late last year, Motorola has promised to roll out the update to many of its devices by Q1 this year. The list of devices includes the Motorola Droid RAZR HD, RAZR Maxx HD and the RAZR M. Now, users of these devices are frustrated as there is still no sign of an update coming their way.
It certainly hurt the fans when they saw rival companies already rolling out the update to their respective devices. Despite that fact, RAZR users can start smiling already as a leak email suggests that the KitKat update is nearing its release.
The email, which came from Motorola, was sent to selected members of Motorola’s Feedback Network (MFN). It is meant to help out the company run some tests. There is no detail to what kind of test did the phone manufacturer meant but all the arrows are pointing towards the Android KitKat OS.
The request isn’t like those invitations to do a soak test. Also, the email was sent to MFN members, who have provided a quality feedback in the past.
As for the long wait, it could be that Motorola is having some difficulties as the RAZR Android OS is created with Blur efforts which make it more complex. It is not like the Moto X and the DROID which runs on a near-stock Android.
All in all, once these tests are done and dealt with, RAZR users can expect Motorola to deliver their promise and roll out the Android 4.4 KitKat OS to their devices.
