There are growing rumours suggesting that Mortal Kombat X players will be able to engage in online gameplay without requiring a console account. The root of the rumours came from the game’s producer, Shaun Himmerick, when the lad quoted as such on Twitter.
Then again, it appears to be a huge misunderstanding and an error on Shaun’s end. The producer revealed that the Tweet came with a spelling mistake which convinced the Mortal Kombat fans that they are able to play Mortal Kombat X without an Xbox Live or PS Plus.
The clarification was also made on Twitter when Shaun shared that console rules all apply. While this may sound disappointing, it is now logical as there are no such things for online gameplay on consoles without a proper account.
Mortal Kombat X will be making its debut somewhere in April and it will be available on the PC, Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360 and PS3.
