NetherRealm have officially revealed the release date of Mortal Combat X, however this didn’t make the trailer any less significant to gamers.
The co-creator of the franchise, Ed Boon, has teased about Mortal Combat 10 for over a week now by showing off vague photos and dropping out hints through Twitter. This meant that followers of the game caught on fast that the release date for Mortal Kombat X would be coming soon. Gamers didn’t have to take two guesses as to what the company was working on after posters of Mortal Kombat X came out online.
Ed Boon then showed gamers the first look at the game, thanks to the official trailer. This trailer is two minutes long and shows the battle between Scorpion and Sub-Zero, complete with all the gore that you have come to expect. In the background you can hear Wiz Khalifa rap “Can’t be Stopped”. It also shows Sub-Zero using a branch as a club after freezing it.
Ed Boon said “Mortal Kombat has always been about over-the-top, visceral fighting and with Mortal Kombat X we wanted to utilise the power of new-gen consoles to give players our most intense game yet.”
At the moment only Scorpion and Sub Zero have been the two characters we have seen and which we know are making their way to Moral Kombat X. There are many others that fans are hoping will be seen in the game, such as Sonya Blade, Kano and Lui Kang. We could also see the introduction of new characters into what is essentially a remake of the game that is 20 years old.
