We have seen what Google thinks the future of smartphone will be like when they announce their Project Ara. If that is the case, smartphones like the Microsoft Surface Phone concept seen here should last a lot longer.
The reason why we switch smartphones so often is because smartphone manufacturers keep coming out with models with higher specs, better camera, bigger battery, better screen. Well, base on that idea, artist Jonas Daehnert came out with a concept called the Microsoft Surface Phone Concept revision 3.
The idea is that users can switch out the camera unit on the smartphone is they want to. That way, users can keep upgrading the camera to a better unit without having to change the whole smartphone.
Of course, nobody really knows of Microsoft is going to release a Microsoft Surface Phone or not but if they do, we won’t mind if it works like this concept.
