The design is an important factor to consider when buying a new phone which is why smartphones manufacturers are always trying to outdo each other in terms of design. Will there be a day when the design war get so out of hand that we end up with something like this?
The design above was rendered by artist Micheal Muleba. The Microsoft Lumia 888 he imagine comes with an outwards curved screen that looks impressive but does not feel that practical.
Can you imagine talking on that phone or trying to type a message? Since the smartphone will not fit comfortably in your palm, using it will be extremely uncomfortable.
There is still a certain appeal to the concept but we think the chances of this design making it into the market in the near future is close to none. Check out the rendering and tell us what you think of it.
