We know that Mercedes-Benz is making sure that they have gotten all the grounds covered by working on both EV nad hydrogen-powered model. Even though they are looking to work on both powertrain option, it looks like Mercedes thinks that one has more potential than the other right now.
According to Dieter Zetsche, he thinks that EV has more potential. With EV engine now offering a longer electric range and faster charging time, EVs future is looking a lot better compared to fuel cells.
He added that there is potential for fuel cells but it all would have to depend on whether the automakers can make it cheap or not. No matter where they stand, Mercedes will still be working on both engines for now.
