Automakers have been trying to clean up the mess that is the problematic Takata airbag inflator. Mazda has now announce three more models that they will be recalling due to the airbag inflators.
According to the latest recall by Mazda, they will be recalling back the Mazda 6, Mazdaspeed 6 as well as the Mazda RX-8 so that they can get the airbag inflator replaced with a safer unit.
The Takata Airbag inflator which has the tendency to rupture in a crash shooting out metal shrapnel at the occupant causing more damage and in some cases, death. It was later added that humidity might be one of the causes of the problem.
Models affected by the recall will include the 2003 -2008 Mazda 6 build from the 29th of May 2002 and the 5th of May 2088, the 2006 -2007 Mazdaspeed6 manufactured from the 1st of July 2005 until the 29th of June 2007 as well as the 2004 Mazda RX-8 build from the 25th of June 2003 until the 30th of June 2003.
