For most Bioware fans, they consider it an obligation to play both the Mass Effect series and the Dragon Age series. However, it seems that those that have only played the former are having trouble in trying out the latter.
Well, there is no need to dispute on which is better as both Mass Effect and Dragon Age are amazing. They are also very similar to each other as they both come with the same dialogue wheel and companion system. So if you are a Mass Effect fan waiting for Mass Effect 4, you might as well give Dragon Age Inquisition a shot.
Of course, we highly encourage playing from Dragon Age Origins as the first title is considered as the best of the trilogy. In Dragon Age Inquisition, the only problem with it is it is too huge. On average, the plot will only begin after 20 hours of gameplay. Then again, things are expected to be awkward for Mass Effect fans trying out Dragon Age as it has some different features and some missing features.
To make it simpler for Mass Effect lovers, they have to adjust their perception by viewing the Dragon Age franchise like an alternate universe to the Mass Effect franchise. Think of it like Lord of the Rings and Star Wars, but with near-similar gaming elements.
