If you think that Commander Shepard will only exist in the memories for Mass Effect 4, you are wrong. The protagonist for the first Mass Effect trilogy will be returning to Mass Effect 4, alive but old.
In detail, Commander Shepard is going to assume the role as the galaxy’s head peacekeeper. However, the lad will be known by a different name and he will only reveal his true identity as Commander Shepard towards the end of the game.
Unfortunately, Commander Shepard won’t be a playable character and instead be some sort of a mentor to the new protagonist in place.
While it all sounds exciting, Mass Effect fans should take the above with tons of salt since it is nothing more than an April fool joke which we read at a gaming forum on Mass Effect 4. Commander Shepard, as we know it, has retired for good.
