Maserati will be issuing a recall to recall back the Maserati Ghibli here in North America. It was reported that the faulty transmission might display the wrong mode. If the driver leaves the car with the engine on, the vehicle might start rolling way from the driver.
The Maserati Ghibli is not the only one affected by the recall either. Maserati will also be recalled the Quattroporte units as well over the same issue. Those affected will be vehicles that were made between the 1st of June 2013 to 28th of February 2014 that was mated to an eight-speed auto transmission.
According to the report, the eight-speed transmission on the Ghibli and Quattroporte might be stuck in another transmission mode when the drive pushes it to the park position. They also added that they are not aware of any injuries or crashes that might be related to this issue.
Those affected will be going in to get their software updated. Maserati will start informing the affected owners on the 1st of July.
