MacBook Or Chromebook: Google Beat Apple Last Year

2013 has finally come to a close and the statistics are all out. The only figure that we are concerned with is with Apple and how the American company performed throughout the year.

Last year, the market saw more sales of desktops, notebooks and tablets sold in the US alone. Many companies are celebrating as the achieved their respective sales target. On the other hand, there is also a fair share of disappointment and Apple is a part of it.

The Macbook sales appears to be nothing compared to Google’s Chromebook. Even the iPad got dethroned by both Android and Windows tablets.

It was recorded that 14.4 million desktops, notebooks and tablets were sold from January to November last year. The Chromebook alone sold about 1.76 million units. At that same period, Apple’s share on the market is on a constant decline.

Google should be applauded as they witnessed a 9.4% growth with the Chromebook when the stats from the previous year got compared. In the world of Desktops and Notebooks, Windows have been the dominating figure. Even though the sales for Microsoft’s OS dropped, Windows is still dominating the market.

All in all, it has been a year full of surprises. We are now in 2014 and let us see how Apple will recover from the poor sales performance in 2013.
