The Google I/O event is less than a week away from now and fans are excited for it. This is due to the overwhelming anticipation for the future Nexus device. With the Nexus 6 next in line for a release, we couldn’t help but rushed the queries to Ken Hong.
The Global Communications Director for LG responded by claiming that the Korean company has no knowledge on the status of the Nexus program. This is really surprising as LG is one of Google’s biggest partners.
LG was responsible for the development of the Nexus 4 and 5 smartphones and both of them are a major success. Then there are other projects like Android Wear devices and Google TV devices which has LG’s signature all over it.
Ken claims that it is still Google’s call. As for this moment, LG does not have any Nexus program or devices in motion. The response by Ken might be hinting on the future Android Silver project. Ken then found himself trapped by our reply and claims that he can neither confirm nor deny LG’s involvement in the Android Silver project. Again, it is all up to Google to address it.
With that in mind, it seems that next week will be more of a farewell party for the Nexus. On the other hand, it is also a welcoming party for the Android Silver project.
